Almost one year ago, Premier Doug Ford and MPP Parm Gill (now Minister of Citizenship and Multiculturalism) promised to stop the Campbellville quarry ‘one way or another’. Minister Parm Gill also said on July 29^th, 2020, “If the community does not want a project to move forward, bottom line, we are going to make sure the project doesn’t happen. It’s that simple.”

ACTION Milton does not see any evidence of action on the part of our MPP, Parm Gill, to fulfill his promise to stop the Campbellville quarry. 

The most comprehensive and cost-effective way to stop the Campbellville quarry is for the Ford Government to issue a Minister’s Zoning Order (MZO).  Recently Stephen Crawford, MPP for Oakville urged the Mayor and Council of Oakville to ask his government for an MZO to protect the Glen Abbey Lands. Parm Gill, now a Minister in the Ontario government must also ask his colleagues in the Cabinet for an MZO and fulfill Doug Ford’s promise to Milton.
