Whereas Premier Ford announced on July 29th that his government will “make sure” the Campbellville quarry “doesn’t happen one way or another”;

Whereas the top priority for residents of Milton is to protect public health during the COVID 19

pandemic, and to support an economic recovery; and

Whereas the continuing Joint Agency Review Team (JART) process is a waste of public time and public money;

Be it resolved that I endorse the demands of ACTION Milton that

  • Premier Ford act quickly to stop the Campbellville quarry, and
  • MPP Parm Gill report to the community on a regular basis regarding his efforts to ensure a swift and comprehensive decision by the provincial government to stop the Campbellville quarry

    I’m sure they can find another beautiful place to destroy.

    I fully support this!!

    I live at the intersection of guelph line and limestone road and already i sometimes have difficulty crossing the intersection, and increasing the volume of traffic on Guelph line will make the problem dramatically worse. I also own a business in old Milton and am concerned about the water quality should this proceed. I am not in favour of the quarry moving forward with their plans.

    This quarry is a bad idea. Our water level will disappear and our piece and quiet will be shattered by blasts and large trucks. I grew up near an active quarry. The quarry dust will destroy the paint and windows in your car. The blasting does actually knock things off the walls. I know we are sitting a a giant gravel pit here in Campbellville but that doesn’t mean we have to use it.

    I support Action Milton in preventing any expansion with the Campbellville Quarry.

    There are enough quarries in this area we do not need another. I am sure that operating an underwater quarry is just waiting for problems to happen. It is not the known problems with their own problems to deal with, but it is the unknown problems with their impossible solutions. In my opinion that quarry should never start.
